I joined Sycamore Process Engineering in September, 2024 and I work as a Project Manager. In this role, I oversee the planning, execution, and completion of engineering projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet all client specifications and safety standards.
As a Project Manager, my main responsibilities include leading and coordinating project teams to ensure successful project delivery. I oversee the planning, scheduling, and budgeting of projects, manage resources, and ensure that all team members are aligned with project goals. I also work closely with clients to understand their needs, manage stakeholder expectations, and ensure that projects meet safety and quality standards. Additionally, I focus on problem-solving, risk management, and ensuring clear communication across all teams.
On a typical day at Sycamore, I start by reviewing the project schedule and prioritising tasks for the team. I spend time coordinating with different departments to ensure resources are aligned and project timelines are on track. This often includes attending meetings with clients and internal teams to discuss project progress, address any challenges, and review safety and quality protocols. I also focus on risk management, making sure any potential issues are identified and mitigated early on. Throughout the day, I communicate regularly with my team to provide guidance, track performance, and ensure we are meeting both project goals and client expectations.
The best part about working at Sycamore is the collaborative environment and the opportunity to work on innovative projects that make a real impact. I appreciate how the company values teamwork, where everyone’s ideas are heard, and problem-solving is a shared effort. Sycamore also offers great support for professional growth, which helps me continue to develop my skills. Being part of a talented team that works together to deliver high-quality solutions to our clients is truly rewarding.
Outside of work, I enjoy the gym, hiking, travelling to new places and meeting people. It helps me recharge and stay creative. An interesting fact about me is that I’ve travelled to over 12 countries. I find that having hobbies outside of work gives me a fresh perspective, which often helps me approach challenges at work in a more creative way.
